The TriDFusion (3DF) Image Viewer, a research software tool for medical imaging, is built on MATLABTM. It caters to physicians, physicists, and academic researchers. This viewer supports multiple modalities and dimensions of DICOM images, with the ability to allocate dynamic memory. Its capabilities include resolving problems related to image orientation, slice separation, misregistration, as well as removing and setting hot pixels.
For instance, it can modify the custom value of the bladder in a Whole-Body SPECT planar image. The mask and image segmentation tool is compatible with all types of data. The resulting image can be saved as a new DICOM series or exported in .stl format for 3D printing. By combining MIP with isosurface using TriDFusion, the detection and characterization of lesions on 18F-FDG PET/CT are significantly improved compared to evaluating only the MIP. Additionally, volume rendering with customized color and alpha map can provide valuable information regarding the intensity of uptake in lesions. The 3D threshold-based isosurface can be exported as an STL file or as a new DICOM 3D mask for tumor quantification.
